Dear Joann I had the privilege of reading your Blog for the last year or so. Never boring, Doug lived well. I know you and all the extended families will miss him greatly. My heart goes out to you.

Joanne we have never met yet I have read your Blog so long I feel like I know you and Doug and Fillmore. I started reading your blog when I was going thru cancer treatment myself and the courage you and Doug displayed everyday gave me strength to get thru it all. The two of you have been an example to follow. Reading your Blog was always a bright spot in my day. Doug will be missed by many but never forgotten. His wise words will be remembered forever. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this sad time.

JoAnn, there just aren't words that explain the sadness in our hearts this evening. We feel so blessed that we got to know you both (and Fillmore) during the winter of 2010. Our time at Rainbow and Callaway Gardens (FDR State Park) with you and Doug was so special. Doug was an amazing man and the two of you are special couple! We are so sorry to hear of Doug. We will have fond memeories of our meetings. Doug was one of a kind. The way we met in Tuscon with a note on my windshield with a phone number and Doug and I going to Four Corners for the meetings. Thing is Doug will always be with us. Just not here now.
