Although we have never met, I, like many others, feel like I have known Doug for many years by following his delightful journal. I so admired his spirit and enthusiasm for life. I am so thankful that the two of you got to spend quality time together on the road traveling. Those memories, along with countless others, will remain with you forever. JoAnn, We met you, Doug and Fillmore in Benson last winter, and have followed your blog ever since. You have both been an inspiration to us, and after our first trip to the American Southwest last winter, we are now planning to return, this time full time RVing. We feel privileged to have met you both; you have inspired us to live in the present, and follow our own dreams.

Joanne and Family: We are so very sorry to hear that Doug passed on. We only met briefly in Benson this winter, but we followed your blog for some time before embarking on our adventures. We enjoyed Doug's writing and joy with your RV lifestyle. Your combined courage in facing illness is amazing. We will keep you in our prayers and thoughts.
