I think of Mr Dubrouillet every year when Cadberry Eggs come out for Easter! For some reason I can't get that memory out of my head! He used to buy them for Susanne and I during softball season in high school. Good times!

The first time we met Doug was at the VA Poma Ranch.  He was in a bit of a tizzy because he lost his 2 way radio while he was fishing.  I cannot remember if he found it or not.   The second time was at Betty's RV Park.  We extended our stay a couple of days so we could have Doug and Joann over for dinner.  I was always glad we did that.    Thanks for the humor in your blog,
I always enjoyed it.

The first time we met Doug was at the entrance booth at Usery Mountain in D. He and JoAnn had invited us for dinner the night we arrived and we had just driven in. He told us to get set up and come on over. We arrived to an excellent meal and had a good time getting to know each other. We had another dinner out with Doug and JoAnn while in Mesa, AZ and met up again in Tucson at Doc Justin's. Doug was a special person. He will be missed greatly.

The photo was taken at Coyote Pause on the west side of Tucson.

I remember living close to Doug in Cocoa Beach, FL in the '70's.  My then-husband Brent and I would go "shrimping" with Doug on warm summer nights.  We'd be under a causeway bridge with nets with long handles, a cooler for the beer (and also where we put the shrimp on those few occasions when we would actually catch any) and a Coleman latern.  Before we would go out Brent and I would make bets with each other on how long it would take Doug to knock the latern into the water with the net handle.  He never disappointed!  When it happened, he would utter a cuss word or do,  we would fish the drenched latern out of the river, and since we needed the latern see the shrimp, the incident would always end the charade of shrimping for the night.  We all knew it didn't matter.  It was the being together that was important.  But the highlight of the evening would always be when, after he calmed down a bit, Doug would get that silly grin of his on face, and laugh at himself like he had never done such a thing before and never would again.

Good bye, Doug.  Thanks for the wonderful memories.   Your loving cousin, Annette

The first day I met Doug was at their house for dinner at Doc Justin's in Arizona. It was a travel day for Ellie and I and JoAnn had a huge pot of Taco Soup ready. I was introduced to Doug and he said "Glad to meet you...I'm hungry..Let's eat!"...and later on, " Don't follow the stock market...It will drive you crazy"....I liked him a lot immediately and will miss him and his great sense of humor. This college football season, I'll cheer for the both of us.
